Design Concept and Features

Local Culture and Contemporary Comfort: Inspired by Bangalore's Garden City identity, the design uses abundant planting and floral motifs throughout its public spaces to evoke a garden setting. Gold, deep plum and green tones combine traditional Indian patterns with premium materials, expressing local culture in a contemporary way. Outside, clear vertical volumes and horizontal bands relate to the city, while mural-like reliefs at the entrance pay tribute to local art. The design brings regional history, garden imagery and international sophistication together.

Advanced Technology and Quality: As a five-star hotel, the building uses advanced equipment and construction technology. Double-silver Low-E-coated ultra-clear glass provides transparency together with thermal and acoustic insulation. Smart building systems integrate energy management, security and guestroom controls to improve convenience and reduce energy use. In the lobby and podium, large-span glass-fin structures create column-free, high-ceilinged spaces with exceptional transparency while maintaining structural stability. Redundant air-conditioning and power systems, together with rainwater recovery, support sustainable operation.

Leadfu's Integrated One-Stop Service

We provided comprehensive curtain wall and exterior works for Shangri-La. To meet the demanding structural and safety requirements of high-transparency glazing, our team worked closely with the international architects from detailed design onward to establish the unitized curtain wall solution. During construction, we selected leading glass suppliers to ensure extremely low iron content and excellent optical quality in every pane. We coordinated the installation of large lobby glazing and structural steel, overcoming the challenges of lifting long-span components at height to create the open, transparent lobby. Our experienced team oversaw material selection, fabrication, installation, and air and water tightness testing, delivering the project on schedule to Shangri-La's high standards.

Spatial Planning and Facade Design

• Integrated Functions: The hotel contains 397 guestrooms and suites, premium restaurants, banquet halls and a spa, offering a comprehensive luxury experience. Public spaces extend the garden theme through landscaped sky terraces and an outdoor pool, bringing nature into the city center. Its location near Palace Road provides walking access to attractions including Bangalore Palace.
• Energy-Efficient Facade:Glass curtain walls and stone form a clean, upright exterior. The high-performance facade supports energy efficiency and comfort: double-glazed Low-E units reduce heat gain and air-conditioning demand while preserving broad views. Stone sections provide shading and introduce textures associated with traditional Indian architecture. At night, lighting emphasizes the crown and entrance details, giving the building a warm, dignified presence.
• Environmental Responsibility and Innovation:The hotel uses LED lighting, automatic blackout curtains and rainwater collection and reuse to reduce its carbon footprint. It meets local green building assessment standards and holds related certification. Innovation also lies in the integration of traditional elements: locally crafted lobby chandeliers and Indian lattice patterns express cultural identity. These measures combine luxury and comfort with sustainability.
