The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho

The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho occupies the upper floors of the Tokyo Garden Terrace Kioicho tower in Chiyoda, Tokyo. It represents a luxury evolution of the Prince Hotel brand. Above the 30th floor, panoramic floor-to-ceiling glazing frames views of the Imperial Palace grounds, Tokyo Tower and other landmarks. The double-height lobby on level 36 is surrounded by glass curtain walls up to eight meters wide, making the bar and lounge appear to float above the city. Interiors combine traditional Japanese references with contemporary luxury: origami-like suspended artwork and Edo Kiriko-inspired patterns give the lobby a distinct local character. Soft exterior lighting identifies the hotel floors at night. The result brings Tokyo's history and contemporary hospitality together through views and detailed design.

Design Concept and Features

A Gallery in the Sky: The Prince Gallery name reflects the idea of presenting Tokyo's scenery as artwork. Open public areas maintain continuous views toward Mount Fuji and Tokyo Tower. Guest rooms orient the bed toward full-height windows, while glass-enclosed bathrooms allow bathing with a view. Throughout the hotel, interior sightlines connect with the city and changing sky. At night, low, soft lighting limits reflections and allows the skyline to become the room's main visual feature.

Traditional Detail and Contemporary Luxury: Carpet patterns in lobbies and corridors draw on kimono linings, while Edo Komon textiles and timber lattice screens give rooms a refined Japanese character. These elements sit alongside Italian marble and restrained modern furniture. The upper-level bar and lounge uses floating clouds as its theme, with cloud-shaped lighting and a full glass wall behind the bar that reflects the sky by day and interior lights by night. The design combines Japanese calm with the richness of international luxury hospitality.

Leadfu's One-Stop Integrated Services

We coordinated the curtain wall and interior interfaces on the high-level hotel floors. Low-iron glass provides clear, neutral views by day and night. Special vibration-control components accommodate stronger high-level winds and small building movements to prevent glazing noise and damage. We also coordinated supports for Japanese-style screens and suspended installations, concealing lobby artwork supports between curtain wall beams. Installation sequencing protected valuable finishes: large glazing panels were installed first, followed by wall, floor and ceiling finishes and finally the suspended artwork, with finished-work protection throughout. Our integrated coordination connected exterior and interior construction to achieve the intended gallery-like experience.

Spatial Planning and Facade Design

  • Integrated Functions:The hotel has 250 rooms on levels 30–36. Level 36 contains reception, a lobby bar, all-day dining, spa and fitness facilities, creating a sky-club atmosphere. Other premium restaurants offer French and Japanese cuisine, with selected private dining rooms beside the windows. Separate elevator zones maintain privacy from offices and retail in the same tower, while the lower podium connects to Kioicho subway facilities and neighboring Kioi Hall banquet facilities.
  • Energy-Efficient Facade:Double-silver Low-E glazing reduces solar heat gain while maintaining transparency. The building is oriented slightly eastward, with vertical metal-mesh fins on the side exposed to strong afternoon sun. Electrically controlled privacy film allows guests to adjust window transparency and shading. An intelligent building-control system adjusts public-area curtains and air conditioning according to sun angle, balancing comfort and energy use.
  • Sustainability and Innovation:As a new flagship of the Prince Hotel group, the hotel prioritizes locally sourced food and supplies to reduce transport emissions. Efficient variable-speed air conditioning, LED lighting and rainwater collection for landscape use improve environmental performance. Digital concierge services allow guests to control curtains, lighting and air conditioning from in-room tablets, reducing unnecessary energy use. Contemporary art exhibitions in the lobby gallery also contribute to local cultural activity.

The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho combines exceptional views with carefully considered design, connecting Tokyo's traditions, contemporary life and urban landscape. Its gallery-like experience demonstrates a form of luxury based on a meaningful connection with the city's scenery and culture as well as material quality.
